While not everyone shares this opinion, there are many who see Americans as coming in peacefully, pioneering, and then taking over aggressively. Strategic selfishness is probably a politer term.

Don't throw that camo out just yet. I would say sports in general provide the public with a sort of psychological outlet unlike anything else. We just want to win. Saturn in Aries during the late 90s gave us music and culture trying to be more “fun” and “original”, but it just wasn’t quite an era of memorable music. Aqua’s 1997 hit “Barbie Girl” comes to mind.
